Complex scene interaction in VR using TDW
Description | From 2017 to the present, I have been Project Lead for the design and development of ThreeDWorld (TDW), a multi-modal platform for physical scene interaction. TDW is a publicly-available simulation platform, and has been developed by the MIT Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences, with funding from the MIT-Watson AI Lab. TDW has been used by over 120 research institutions around the world. TDW is all about direct physical interaction with objects in a 3D scene, and VR simulations in TDW are no exception. Users can grasp objects and manipulate them with full physics behavior that respects the complexities of an object's form and contour, as well as its mass. Even direct interaction with soft, particle-based simulations such as cloth and fluids is possible. |
