BSA Opening Event
Description | I coded this visualization application using the Processing programming language and the Twitter API. The program harvested Tweets based on various BSA-related tags, then aggregated and displayed them as discrete visual units positioned and scaled appropriately based on the number of characters in the Tweet. The result was projected onto the wall using a projection-mapping process developed by Bill Gastrock. BACKGROUND In 2011 the Boston Society of Architects (BSA) opened their new BSA Space in the Fort Port Channel area of downtown Boston, close to the Seaport. To support the event, Continuum created a live data visualization of Twitter conversations taking place around the new space and its opening. |
